What started as a dispute over an undeserved title shot between heavyweights has escalated into personal attacks. Hokitu already suggested that the UFC fire Volkov and called his fights a cure for insomnia, while the Russian considers the American the easiest path to the championship belt.

The feud between Alexander Volkov and Josh Hokit has gradually become one of the main conflicts in the heavyweight division.

Everything started after UFC gave Hokitu a title fight against Ciryl Gane. Volkov, whom many expected to be the next contender, sarcastically assessed the organization's decision. The American responded much more harshly: he reminded that he had defeated Curtis Blaydes and Derrick Lewis, to whom the Russian had previously lost, called Volkov's style boring, and even stated that he should have been released from the UFC.

Hokit then continued to mock the Russian's spectacle and stated that his fights could be prescribed to people for insomnia: you turn on the recording and immediately feel like sleeping.

Volkov responded with a sporting challenge. He acknowledged Gane as the favorite for the title fight, but stated that Hokitu's victory would be more beneficial for him personally: Alexander called the American "the easiest fight of his career" and the simplest path to the UFC beltThe text to translate is empty.

Hokit went on the offensive again. He stated that Volkov would not get a chance to face him at all, because by the time the Russian earns a title shot, Josh himself would supposedly already be dominating at light heavyweight. As an argument, the American once again cited common opponents and two victories over Lewis and Blaydes.

Now Volkov has also reached the joke about insomnia. The Russian stated that he sees nothing wrong with it: if his fights really help people fall asleep, then they can gather an audience no worse than special sleep videos.

Sleep is good.

At the same time, Volkov separately jabbed at Hokita, noting that such videos garner millions of views — "far more than his fights."

The conflict may well have a sporting continuation. On October 24, Volkov will face Rizvan Kuniev at UFC 333., and On November 14, Hokit will attempt to take the belt from Ciryl Gane at UFC 334.If both win, the potential title fight will already have a ready-made story.
